The Emporia State football team will hold their annual Welcome back students night Monday. The Practice is scheduled to begin at 8:00p. There will be games, food and some lucky students will get the chance to call some plays.
One of the positions that has question marks is the secondary with 4 key players graduated. They do return 4 players with experience. Junior Roscoe Gatewood leads the group at safety, he has been selected as a team captain.
Senior Cody Savage played in all 11 games at safety last year.
Senior Asher Goldston makes the shift from safety to cornerback.
Senior Brent Davenport is also in the mix in the secondary.
The Hornets will hold another scrimmage/mock game Thursday as they continue to prepare for their season opener on August 30th at Northeastern State.
