This year’s Eureka Pro Rodeo was another success but it was the generosity of the community that was the highlight of the weekend.
During Saturday’s Mark Out Cancer Night, $9,300 was raised for the family of 2-year-old Mason Marshall, who is battling a brain tumor. Organizer and rodeo committee member Jamie Nelson says the community support over 11 days was nothing short of incredible.
Bullfighters Richard Wayne Ratley and Cody Patton also gave Mason a signed bullfighters jersey. Matt Stacie Tarr made Mason his own pair of rodeo clown baggies and Danny Reagan and his crew took Mason shopping for some toys and cowboy clothes while Diamond S Welding and Deweze also provided Mason with some toy trucks.
In addition, Nelson says both nights of rodeo were well attended.
Money raised for the Marshall family will go to help with travel expenses and medical bills for Mason.
