TOPEKA — The teen suspect in a homicide in Topeka last week has been taken into custody.
Brandon Gayer, 18, was arrested in Topeka. Further details will be released by Topeka Police.
Lyon County issued a call for information Sunday following the shooting death of 20-year-old Gianni Noriega in Topeka on Thursday, the subsequent arrest of a second suspect on Sunday and what authorities say is a “hold” on a Topeka apartment as the investigation continues. The name of the second suspect has not yet been released.

Lyon County law enforcement is joining counterparts in Shawnee County in asking the public’s help in finding a teenaged murder suspect.
Authorities are looking for 18-year-old Brandon L. Gayer of Shawnee County. This follows the shooting death of 20-year-old Gianni Noriega in Topeka on Thursday, the subsequent arrest of a second suspect on Sunday and what authorities say is a “hold” on a Topeka apartment as the investigation continues.
If you see Gayer, authorities say you should not approach him because he is suspected to be armed and dangerous. Instead, call 911, Topeka Police’s Criminal Investigation Bureau at 785-368-9400 or Shawnee County Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
