The two candidates vying for the First Congressional District seat in Kansas are making stops in Emporia this week.
Alan LaPolice, the Democratic nominee will speak at a special meeting of the Lyon County Democrats at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The meeting is being held at the Democratic headquarters at 1101 Commercial. The event will be a meet and greet with voters having the opportunity to meet LaPolice and discuss his policy positions.
Separately on Wednesday evening, Congressman Roger Marshall, the Republican incumbent, will speak at a community coffee. The event will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Emporia Arts Center at 815 Commercial Street. Marshall will speak on current events in addition to other topics.
Both events are open to the public.
