One person was transported following a vehicle crash southwest of Emporia late Saturday morning.
Just before noon, emergency personnel were paged to the 700 block of Road 160 where an SUV had rolled onto its side in the north ditch directly behind south of the Tyson Fresh Meats wastewater treatment plant. According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, a female driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. She was eastbound on Road 160 when she crossed a small bridge and veered off the road for a currently unknown reason.
The woman was alert when paramedics arrived and was transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health with currently unlisted injuries. Her name has not been released. The cause of the crash remains under further investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
