A Wabaunsee County resident is leading the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, if only for a short period of time.
On Monday, Gov. Jeff Colyer appointed Linda Craighead to serve as the department’s interim director. Craighead, the current assistant director, takes over for Robin Jennison, who was named recently to lead the Kansas State Fair.
An Alma resident, Craighead has served with KDWPT since 2011. Her department duties have included managing the Park and Tourism divisions, and she also oversaw the department’s transition out of the Kansas Department of Commerce.
