USD 252 Southern Lyon County has several celebrations planned for this week.
A formal groundbreaking ceremony will take place at Olpe at 9:30 am Thursday. Ribbon-cutting ceremonies are also planned for Neosho Rapids at 10:30 am Friday followed by a ribbon-cutting at Hartford at 11:30 am Friday.
The ceremonies this week mark different milestones in renovations at the USD 252 schools that began early this year, with Hartford and Neosho Rapids schools nearing the end of the renovation process and Olpe at the beginning. Each building has a set of renovations unique to each facility, while all buildings also have common construction projects including security enhancements and STEM, or science, technology, engineering and math, improvements as well.
