The Kansas Turnpike Authority is closing down the scenic overlook at the Flint Hills cattle pens exit, as well as the exit itself Wednesday morning.
The KTA says it has taken this step so area ranchers can load and haul cattle.
Normal traffic flow at the exit, mile marker 111, should resume by noon.
Separately, milling and resurfacing continues from just south of the Matfield Green service exit 30 miles south of Emporia to just north of the service exit. The southbound inside lane will be closed Wednesday for that work.
