Coffey County authorities say one person is dead following a head-on crash Tmorningy moring at US Highway 75 and 20th Road.
Shortly after 5:30 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched after the report of a southbound minivan that struck a north bound semi. The male driver of the minivan died at the scene. The semi driver was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under further investigation and at this point, the man’s name has not been released pending notification of the family. The accident caused a closure for about two hours.
Responding agencies included the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington Police Department, Coffey County EMS, Burlington Fire, New Strawn Fire.
