Every Royal had hit or scored a run. Ryan O’Hearn hit a 2 run home run in the 8th and finished with 4 RBI.
Hunter Dozier hit a solo home run in the 5th and newly called up catcher Cam Gallagher hit a solo home run in the 6th inning.
Brad Keller was the winning pitcher going 8 innings giving up 2 runs on 4 hits with 4 strikeouts.
The Royals and Orioles play again Saturday night. Heath Filmyer will be the starting pitcher with first pitch at 6:15.
The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have traded catcher Drew Butera to the Colorado Rockies for minor league left-handed pitcher Jerry Vasto. Vasto has been subsequently optioned to Omaha (AAA). The Royals have also recalled catcher Cam Gallagher from Omaha and reinstated outfielder Brian Goodwin from the disabled list.
