Just under $1,000 will be headed to Folds of Honor, thanks to a recent fundraiser through the Emporia Golf Course.
Course manager Marcus Erkel was excited to announce $905 is going to Folds of Honor, thanks to a raffle effort that lasted barely a week.
Several prizes were given away on the golf course’s Facebook Live feature. Ray Mattas won a Titleist 917 driver, while Todd Preisner won a recliner from Guion’s Showcase.
Folds of Honor offers scholarships to the children of veterans either killed or wounded in action. The last time the golf course raised money for Folds of Honor, Erkel asked for an extra dollar from greens fees for the group. That effort raised less than $40.
