There continues to be a need to find good homes for pets in the Emporia area.
It’s a mission that new Humane Society of the Flint Hills Director Caitlin Flood is taking to heart. On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 program Thursday, Flood said the shelter continues to see a lot of dogs and cats coming and going.
The Humane Society will be down at Saturday’s Great American Market looking to raise funds to help with adoptions and general needs. In addition, a dog house build is planned Sept. 29 which Flood says is aimed at lower-income residents.
A total of five dog houses will be built. Information on how you can donate is available online at humanesocietyoftheflinthills.org or by calling 620-342-4477.
