Kansas ended a 46 game road losing skid with a 31-7 win at Central Michigan Saturday.
The Jayhawks offense was powered by true freshman Pooka Williams Jr who rushed for 125 yards and scored 2 rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Peyton Bender completed 17 passes for 130 yards and threw 1 touchdown pass to Kerr Johnson. Shakial Taylor returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown. Gabriel Rui added a 36 yard field goal. The Jayhawks scored 17 points after forcing turnovers. They had 2 fumble recoveries and 4 interceptions. Coach David Beaty was pleased to get the win.
The Jayhawks are 1 and 1 to start the season. They will host Rutgers next Saturday with kick-off at 11am.
