A major waterline installation project is set to begin Wednesday in southeast Emporia.
The City of Emporia Engineering Department plans to begin work on a new 16-inch water main extending along East Kansas Ave. from South Exchange Street to South East Street. As a result, East Kansas Avenue within that area will be closed to all thru traffic. Local residents will be notified when access to their properties will be interrupted.
The work is anticipated to last approximately six to eight weeks, weather permitting.
