The Neosho River’s Regional Advisory Committee is holding a meeting in Emporia on Wednesday.
The main items of discussion will be an update to the committee’s goals as well as discussions on budgets. A study update on harmful algae blooms will also be featured.
The meeting starts at 1 pm at the Bowyer Community Building.
Before the meeting, committee members and the general public are invited to visit the property across the road from Westar Energy’s Emporia Energy Center at 1685 Road 200. There have been some discussions about making that property a water quality technology farm, and Westar and Kansas State University staff will give a brief overview of that property starting at 11 am. The water technology idea will also be discussed during the formal meeting.
