The local disc golf scene is abuzz after Emporian Paige Bjerkaas won the Pro Disc Golf Association Women’s World Championship in Vermont on Sunday.
Bjerkaas was 6-over par over five rounds, including an even-par 63 for the final round, and led from the second round to the finish. Bjerkaas won the Junior Worlds in 2010 and becomes the second Emporian to be a world champion, following Eric McCabe in 2010.
Bjerkaas will join KVOE’s Morning Show at 7:50 am to reflect on her title run.
