The Emporia High boys soccer team routed Highland Park 10-0 Thursday night.
The Spartans scored their first goal with 26:24 to play in the first half and kept scoring. They led 8-0 at halftime. Austin Ulrich, Alvin Arriola, Anthony Fierro and Wilber Landaverde each scored 2 goals. Hector Hernandez added a goal and Alex Ramirez scored the first goal of his career. Goalie Anthony Saenz had 2 saves on the night. It was his 2nd shutout of the week. He says thats the way the defense is designed to work.
The Spartans are now 7-1 for the season and will host Washburn Rural Tuesday.
