Salvador Perez hit a walk-off grand slam to lift the Kansas City Royals to a 8-4 win over the Minnesota Twins Friday night.
Adalberto Mondesi hit a solo home run in the 7th to tie the game at 4. Perez also drove in a run with a single in the 1st inning. Whit Merrifield drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the 2nd. The Twins scored 3 runs in the 5th inning and added a run in the 7th. Royals starting pitcher Jorge Lopez left the game in the fifth inning with a left rib contusion. The Royals and Twins play again Saturday with Ian Kennedy making the start, first pitch is set for 6:15p.
