Quail Forever entertained and instructed several area children this past weekend.
The conservation group held its annual youth instructional shooting event at the Rex Williams property at 1529 Road K. Ashton Latimer, 11, says he totally enjoyed himself.
Latimer’s brother, Ethan, age 13, was also out for the first time.
Isaiah Smith, also 11, also says he enjoyed himself.
Quail Forever held the event for a wide range of kids ages 5-17, providing guns, ammunition and instructors for the stations, which included skeet shooting and archery. The group works to conserve game birds like quail and pheasants, as well as other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness and education campaigns or activities and certain land management practices.
