The investigation continues into a fatal accident in Morris County over the weekend.
The Kansas Highway Patrol has been investigating the death of 56-year-old Shawn Irons of Herington since he was apparently killed early Sunday. Early indications are a driven by 37-year-old Joshua Williams, also of Herington, hit Irons sometime between 1:20 and 1:45 am on US Highway 56 about 10 miles east of Herington. The Highway Patrol says Williams first thought he hit an animal, but after hearing about Irons’ fate he contacted authorities and has cooperated as the investigation has continued.
