Representatives from the Kansas Policy Institute held a candidate policy briefing Wednesday evening in Emporia.
The purpose of the event was to better inform the public on issues in the upcoming general election. KPI Vice President and Policy Director James Franko says this was part of the second round of policy briefings in Kansas.
Among the topics discussed were K-12 spending and achievement, whether or not a constitutional amendment was needed for school finance and issues with the Kansas tax plan. Franko says the civic engagement at these events is always positive.
The general election is Nov. 6. More information is available at kansaspolicy.org.
