The blue-green algae watch for Council Grove City Lake has been lifted.
The watch went into effect last week. Other area lakes remain in either a watch or warning after the latest update from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism:

*Melvern Outlet Pond, Osage County
*Melvern Outlet Swim Pond, Osage County. The beach is closed but visitors can still use Eisenhower State Park Swim Beach.

Blue green algae is highly toxic to humans and pets alike if ingested. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says lake water is not safe for pets or livestock to drink, and lake water should never be consumed by humans, regardless of its blue-green algae status.
