Before Emporia State’s football team takes the field at Welch Stadium against Lindenwood on Saturday, don’t be surprised to see a lot of color splashed around the stadium and other parts of campus.
The annual Nitty Gritty Tie Dye Run is taking place. Organizer Katie Ollenburger, a guest on KVOE’s 8:05 am newscast Friday, said the run is a fundraiser for the Children’s Champions Network of local agencies.
The run starts at 9 am at Emporia State’s Plumb Hall. It will feature several different color stations, where participants will get splashed with packets of different colors along the route, and it will finish with a color party.
Entry fee is $25 for adults and $15 for ESU students or children ages 17 and under.
