Area residents will dine well in the Flint Hills at the third annual Field to Feast this Saturday.
The collaboration between the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Flint Hills Technical College is a farm to table dining experience. Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna explains how the evening will unfold.
The four course meal will be prepared by students in the FHTC Culinary Arts Program. Students use local food and produce from the region to make up the dishes on the menu.
McKenna believes this is a major reason for its popularity.
McKenna adds anyone with dietary issues should not stay away from the event. The culinary students will reach out to help construct a menu which fits any dietary restrictions.
This year’s Field to Feast will be held at the Williams Farm located at 1529 Road K south of Emporia. Ticket cost is $100 per person. Those wishing to attend must call the Chamber at 342-1600. Field to Feast will get underway Saturday at 4 pm.
