Emporia Public Schools is looking for public input as it continues work on an ongoing district needs assessment.
Starting Monday, the district is beginning a series of community meetings where they hope to gather input and move forward. USD 253 Community Relations Director Lyndel Landgren says each of the buildings has unique needs.
The meetings will include representatives from HTK Architects, based out of Topeka, whom the district hired in May for the needs assessment. Architects recently completed tours of each of the district’s nine buildings gathering information on main entry access plans. Landgren says input from the public is valuable.
The first meetings are taking place Monday at Riverside Elementary from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and at Village Elementary from 5:20 to 6:20 p.m. Tuesday’s meeting will be at William Allen White Elementary from 6 to 7 p.m. A complete meeting schedule is below.
