The Emporia State soccer team was out scored by Missouri Western 4-3 in overtime Friday night.
It was a back and forth match. Maria Walden gave Emporia State a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute with the first of her 2 goals. Western Would tied the score with goals in the 35th and 50th minutes of play. Rachel Marshall tied the match at 2 with goal in the 64th minute of play. Maria Walden put Emporia State back in front in the 80th minute of play. Western tied the match on a goal with 14 seconds left in regulation. They won the match on Penalty Kick in overtime. The Lady Hornets are now 6-2-1 and 1-1 in the MIAA. They play at Northwest Missouri State Sunday.
