The next generation of scouts are being sought out this week.
The Sojadi District Scouts BSA is hosting a recruiting bowling night at Flint Hills Lanes Wednesday evening. The night will serve as an informational time for families to learn about the benefits of scouting and sign up their children.
This year the scouts will be recruiting not just boys but girls as well. Sojadi District Executive Alex Mosakowski says the inclusion of girls in the scouts will provide more convenience for local families.
Mosakowski adds scouting offers a wide range of benefits including skills that are applicable both in the wilderness and at home.
The event will begin Wednesday at 6 pm and will run until 8 pm. Representatives of all area troops will be on hand to answer any questions parents may have.
The event is free for any new scouts who have signed up recently or sign up that night. For current scouts and their families, the cost to participate is $5 a person. For more information contact Alex Mosakowski at 816-877-4326.
