Chase County had a small earthquake Wednesday evening.
The US Geological Survey says a magnitude 2.7 quake hit at 7:40 pm. The epicenter was around eight miles north of Cedar Point and about two miles south of Kansas Highway 150, with a reported depth of around two miles. So far, there have been no reports of any shaking, damage or injuries associated with this quake.
A magnitude 2.4 quake hit about three miles east-southeast of Marion, or about 50 miles west of Emporia, on July 30. Weak shaking was noted with no reports of damage or injuries.
