Republican candidate for governor Kris Kobach says Kansas is “Trump country,” and the President filled the Kansas Expocentre with a campaign appearance for Kobach and Congressional candidate Steve Watkins on Saturday.
Trump said Kobach would make a good addition to his administration, but he supports Kobach’s run for governor.
Kobach was one of the President’s advisors on immigration policy almost as soon as Trump was elected two years ago.
Trump also recognized current governor Jeff Colyer, saying he would also be a good fit in his administration.
Kobach is locked up in what has become a three-person race for governor, including Democrat Laura Kelly and independent Greg Orman.
