Thursday is Drive for Food Day.
KVOE staffers and volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 157 and Thomas Transfer stand poised to pick up donations across town as pack the Salvation Army food pantry.
Already, close to 14,000 non-perishable food items have been confirmed, with around 10,000 items from Timmerman, close to 3,100 items from ESB Financial and over 300 from an anonymous donor already announced.
KVOE has extended the window where you can submit your addresses for pickup until 8 am. Call KVOE at 342-1400 to get on the list and then leave your food or personal hygiene items on your porch or driveway for pickup. Staff and volunteers will then start the Drive for Food around 9:15 am.
The food pantry is bare, and shelf supplies have been rapidly dwindling for several weeks. The drive typically replenishes the food pantry through January
KVOE will have live updates from the Salvation Army food pantry and several other stops Thursday.
