The Emporia High volleyball team will be hosting the 10 team Emporia Invitational. 6 of the teams are state ranked.
Emporia High will play Bishop Carroll ranked 3rd in 5A, Topeka Seaman ranked 5th in 5A, Lawrence Free State ranked 6th in 6A and Bonner Springs in pool play. Emporia High senior Alexis Davies says this will help prepare them for sub-state.
The other pool includes Lawrence the number 2 ranked team in 6A, Washburn Rural the number 3 ranked team in 6A, Louisburg the number 3 ranked team in 4A along with Shawnee Heights and Maize. Pool play will begin at 8:30am in both of the Emporia High gyms.
The Lyon County league volleyball tournament will be played Saturday at White Auditorium.
