A busy meeting night is planned Wednesday for the Emporia City Commission.
After cancelling its study session last week, commissioners are due to meet in a study session Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ahead of its 7 p.m. action meeting.
The study session agenda includes a request from Habitat for Humanity for land at 714 Cottonwood for construction of a new single-family home. A review of the city’s solid waste management plan and a relocation of utilities to support a spur line for Bunge North America. Commissioners will then look at approval of those items during its action meeting.
Prior to those two meetings, the city commission and Lyon County Commission will hold its quarterly joint luncheon, scheduled for 5:15 p.m. That agenda includes a proposal for the Emporia/Lyon County Food Policy Council, an update to zoning regulations, a housing discussion and review of a parking lot agreement.
The joint meeting and study session will take place in Conference Room 1AB at White Auditorium. The action meeting is taking place in the Municipal Court Room at White Auditorium.
