It’s Homecoming week at Emporia State University and the campus is abuzz (pun intended) with activities.
While Saturday’s football game between the Hornets and Missouri Western is taking center-stage, a lot of things are happening leading up to the game to bring alumni and students together. On Saturday, the schedule includes the annual Athletics Hall of Honor breakfast and then hard-hat tours of the new Schallenkamp Hall which is less than a year away from completion. ESU Director of Alumni Jose Feliciano says it’s a great opportunity to showcase how ESU is providing quality of life for students.
In addition, former ESU basketball player and current real-estate investor Ron Frierson is the featured speaker at the eighth annual Sam E. and Jeannine Hayes Lecture Series at Webb Hall. Feliciano says they’re looking forward to his speech focused on relationships and service.
Five Distinguished Alumni and three outstanding recent graduates will be honored during Friday’s annual Black and Gold Gala as well.
