Cleanup continues in Greenwood County after massive flooding occurred last week.
Several inches of rainfall washed away county roads and caused damaged to several bridges. Some of the minor flooded areas have been fixed but an overall damage assessment is pending at this point. Greenwood County Road and Bridge Director Darrel Chrisman spoke with KVOE News about some of the damaged areas they’ve seen.
Some of the hardest hit places included the Fall River area in the southern portion of the county. Chrisman says patience will be needed as crews work to unclog debris from some of the low lying roads and bridges, especially in that area.
One bridge in the Fall River area in southern Greenwood County remains underwater at this point and Chrisman says another one was completely washed away.
