The search for a business to fill the former Waters True Value and Safeway space in central Emporia may be at an end.
XS Warehouse, an overstock and liquidation store, will move into the building at 801 West Sixth in the coming weeks with the goal of opening to customers next month. Farm and Home realtor John Paul Sandstrom confirmed the sale of the property to a currently unnamed investor with the express intent of bringing the business to town. Terms of the sale are not being released at this time.
Waters, the most recent tenant, left the building in 2015 before taking over the former Big Lots store at 2727 West Highway 50.
The XS Warehouse online or social media presence is limited to Facebook, saying it is a discount outlet for overstock and liquidation merchandise from “big-name, big-box stores and online retailers.”
KVOE News has reached out to store manager Tim Dorsey and is awaiting a response at this time.
