More orange cones will be evident this week in west Emporia.
Beginning Thursday, asphalt pavement milling and overlay operations will take place on Industrial Road from U.S. Hwy 50 to Interstate 35. Industrial Road will remain open to traffic, however, lane shifts and closures during these construction activities will be commonplace. The project is part of the 2018 Street Resurfacing Project.
The road work is anticipated to take about three weeks, weather permitting. Sideroads adjacent to this portion of Industrial may have brief closures. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes or proceed with caution while within the signed construction zone.
