The Cut, Flint Hills Technical College’s second annual real-time cooking competition, is almost a sellout.
Four students will create a three-course meal, learning their ingredients for each course right before they begin cooking. Interactive multimedia design students will then produce and live-stream the event to viewers at the watch party. FHTC Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch calls it a showcase event for students and the college itself.
The event is at the main college campus, 3301 West 18th, and goes from 6-9 pm. Tickets are $15 for individuals and $25 per couple. They are available by calling the FHTC Foundation at 341-1380. All proceeds benefit the Inspiring Wranglers capital campaign to renovate the culinary arts department.
The Cut also comes a day after Jorge Cazare, a hospitality and culinary arts alum, competes on Food Network’s Food Truck Fan Fight on Thursday night. Cazare now runs a food truck in Denver.
