SOS has a special Community Awareness and Prevention Training event Thursday.
Director Connie Cahoone says this will help to mark Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month with a range of information.
Other topics include protection orders, healing and wholeness during traumatic situations and a look at SOS services.
The seminar will go from 12-5 pm at Flint Hills Technical College. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and the Emporia Police Department are among the sponsors.
Shortly after the seminar ends, SOS will hold a flower release memorial at the Peter Pan Park boathouse. That begins at 5:15 pm and honors victims of domestic violence.
