The Emporia State soccer team won their 3rd match in a row and 12th of the season with a 2-0 win over Washburn Friday night.
Kennedy Hoffman scored her 4th goal of the season in the 35th minute of play to give the Lady Hornets a 1-0 lead at halftime. Rachel Marshall scored a goal in the 67th minute of play. Emporia State out shot Washburn 13-7 and 5-2 on goal. The Lady Hornets are now 12-4-1 for the season and 7-3 in the MIAA. They remain in a 3 way tie for 3rd place with Fort Hays State and Missouri Western with 1 match to play. Emporia State closes out the regular season Sunday at Nebraska Kearney.
