The Olpe volleyball team has advanced to the semifinals at the 1A State Volleyball tournament. Burlington advanced to the semifinals at the 3A tournament.
Olpe opened the tournament with a 3 set win over Grainfield/Wheatland-Grinnell, 25-21, 221-25, 25-19. They also defeated Otis Bison 25-23, 25-13. Centralia, the number 1 seed, defeated Olpe 25-19, 25-15.
Olpe will face Spearville in the semifinals Saturday at 10am at White Auditorium. The other semifinal has Centralia playing Moundridge. The Championship match and 3rd place matches are scheduled to be played at 11:30a.
Burlington also advanced to the semi-finals at the 3A state tournament. In pool play Burlington defeated Hoisington 25-20, 25-10.
They defeated Hesston 25-20, 25-17 and lost to Nemaha Central in 3 sets 25-21, 24-26, 17-25.
They will play Beloit in the semi-finals. The other semi-final has Silver Lake playing Hesston.
