On Wednesday, a site visit team from the Higher Learning Commission will leave Emporia and head back to Chicago.
The team has been at Emporia State University since Monday, looking at mission, institutional integrity, evidence of high-quality education, evaluation and assessment and use of resources or processes to fulfill the university’s mission.
University Provost Dr. David Cordle says Emporia State has been gathering information for the past 18 months leading up to the meetings this week.
The HLC’s next site visit likely won’t be until Emporia State’s full accreditation push in the 2024 academic year. Cordle says this is not a “minor review.” Instead, it’s just as comprehensive as the one to come in six years.
Cordle says ESU is well-positioned to maintain its accreditation, which has been continuous through the HLC since 1915.
