Two people, including a Madison man, were hurt when five vehicles collided at a highway construction zone in Butler County on Monday afternoon.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the wreck happened shortly after 1 pm at Kansas Highway 196 about five miles southeast of Potwin and about 10 miles northwest of El Dorado. Four of the five vehicles involved were stopped at a construction zone, but the fifth, a semi driven by 70-year-old Kenneth Corbett of Abilene, rear-ended a pickup driven by 31-year-old Courtney Hull of Evergreen, Colo. That set off a chain-reaction crash involving the other three vehicles.
Hull was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. So was 67-year-old Robert Miller of Madison, who was driving the pickup that Hull’s truck hit. Miller is not listed as being a patient, while Hull is in fair condition.
Two other drivers, 62-year-old Steven Marlow of Wichita and 68-year-old Kay Good of Tescott, were not hurt.
