One man escaped serious injury after his car hit a horse in northern Wabaunsee County early Tuesday morning. The horse was not so fortunate.
Sheriff Rob Hoskins says the wreck happened at Kansas Highway 99 and Pavilion Road around 6:15 am. An air ambulance was called to the scene but was canceled after the driver’s injuries were determined to be not life-threatening. That person was transported to a currently unlisted hospital.
The horse was killed in the crash. It’s unclear why the horse was on on the highway before the wreck.
