The thirteenth annual Gathering in the Grove is happening this weekend.
The annual art show in Historic Council Grove provides a venue for regional artists to exhibit and sell their work. The show will feature a wide range of mediums from oil, acrylic and water paintings, photography, printmaking, weavings and jewelry.
Event organizer Cheryl Hayes says she is continuously impressed with the level of artwork on display each year.
The art show will coincide with Council Grove’s annual Candlelight Charm which is the official kickoff for the Holiday season. Hayes says there will be horse-drawn carriage rides and refreshments at local businesses.
A portion of proceeds from the event will be put towards painting workshops and other opportunities to promote art in the Flint Hills.
Gathering in the Grove will be held in the Carnegie Building located at 303 W. Main Street in Council Grove from Friday through Sunday.
The times for Gathering at the Grove are as follows:
Friday: 5-9 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Sunday: 1-4 p.m.
