Construction and financial updates were the main highlights during the Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees monthly meeting Wednesday.
CEO Bob Wright handled the construction updates, saying work at the new emergency department is on track for completion near the end of the year.
In addition, renovations continue in the drug compounding area specifically and work also continues to move ExpressCare from Flinthills Mall to the current emergency department site.
Chief Financial Officer Holly French gave the monthly financial report, saying the hospital had a net income of $83,000, above the projected loss of almost $118,000. The unadjusted net loss is a shade over $132,000, or around $300 more than expected. However, the Meaningful Use Incentive-adjusted net loss is almost $2.1 million, or above last year’s loss of $1.8 million.
