The Emporia State soccer team has advanced to the MIAA tournament semi-finals after a 2-1 win over Northeastern State Wednesday afternoon.
Kennedy Hoffman gave the Lady Hornets a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute of play.

Northeastern State tied the match in the 26th minute of play. Gaby Crowell put Emporia State back in front in the 43rd minute of play.
Coach Brian Sailer said they played hard and battled.
Coach Sailer says advancing to the semi-finals was one of the goals this season.
The Lady Hornets improve to 14-4-1. They will play either Central Missouri or Lindenwood in the semi-finals on Friday.
8 Lady Hornets have been named to the all MIAA team. Jillian Patton, Shelby Keyes, Ashlyn Lakin, Maria Walden and Rachel Marshall earned second-team honors while Tanna Benefiel and Kennedy Hoffman were named third-team and Sydney Martens garnered honorable mention.
