Osage County deputies are investigating an injury crash where the victim wasn’t found for three hours after the wreck.
Darlene Sage, 83, was northbound on Auburn Road when she crashed around 10:15 am Tuesday. For currently unknown reasons, her car left the road near 117th Street and hit a mailbox, street signs and a guardrail before the car went airborne, dropping 15 feet into a creek bed.
Sheriff Laurie Dunn says Sage’s children found the car around 1:15 pm. She was taken to a currently unlisted hospital, so her condition is unclear.
Osage County Fire District No. 6 and the Kansas Highway Patrol helped with emergency services and the investigation.
