It was to much Wichita Northwest Friday night as the Grizzlies out scored the Emporia High football team 56-21 in the 2nd round of the 5A state playoffs.
Northwest jumped out to a 14-0 lead before Hayden Baumwart returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown for Emporia Highs first score. Northwest was leading 35-7 when Jace Stewart scored his first touchdown of the game on a 3 yard run. Northwest led 56-13 before the Jace Stewart scored his 2nd touchdown of the game to cut the deficit to 56-21.
The Spartans finish their season with a 5-5 record.
