The Emporia Christian School held their annual pancake feed fundraiser Saturday morning at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building.
Proceeds from the breakfast will go to support improvements and new equipment for the school. Chief amongst the improvements is the need for new carpeting within the classrooms.
When asked why the new carpet is needed, ECS Principal Trisha Fullerton simply replied.
Fullerton adds proceeds will also benefit the purchase of Chromebooks for their students. Students of ECS traditionally transfer into USD 253 after their eighth-grade year and Fullerton believes giving students experience with technology utilized on a daily basis in district classrooms will make the transition much easier.
Also during the breakfast was a silent auction with all proceeds going to the school and a wide selection of vendors selling their assortment of products with 20% of their sales benefiting ECS as well.
