A Reading man was involved in an injury crash in Greenwood County on Saturday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly after noon on US Highway 54 just outside Neal and involved two eastbound vehicles, a pickup and a semi. The semi driver, 26-year-old Neil Baird of Reading, was making a left turn off the highway to go north. The pickup driver, 85-year-old George Poffenbarger of Toronto, tried to pass the semi but hit the driver’s side of the larger truck instead.
Poffenbarger was taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka for treatment. His condition will not be released. Baird was not hurt.
Poffenbarger was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
